3.2.11 cw_moody - Moody friction factor
f = cw_moody(d,e,re)

Calculate the Moody approximation of the Colebrook-White equation in range 4000≤ Re≤ 5× 108   and 0 ≤ε/D≤ 0.01  .

Arguments

d

Pipe internal diameter (m  ).

e

Pipe effective roughness ε .

re

Reynolds number

Returns Darcy friction factor f , dimensionless.

Possible Errors

Moody approximation only valid within 4000 <= Re <= 5e8

The given Reynolds number is out of range.

Moody approximation only valid within 0 <= e/D <= 0.01

The given pipe roughness/diameter fraction is out of range.

Moody diameter is <= 0

The given internal diameter of the pipe must be above zero.
