3.2.12 wood - Wood friction factor
f = wood(d,e,re)

Calculate the Wood approximation of the Colebrook-White equation in range 4000≤ Re≤ 5×107   and 1× 10-5≤ ε/D ≤0.04  .

Arguments

d

Pipe internal diameter (m  ).

e

Pipe effective roughness ε .

re

Reynolds number

Returns Darcy friction factor f , dimensionless.

Possible Errors

Wood approximation only valid within 4000 <= Re <= 5e7

The given Reynolds number is out of range.

Wood approximation only valid within 1e-5 <= e/D <= 0.04

The given pipe roughness/diameter fraction is out of range.
